Chianciano Terme is located in the heart of Tuscany, between the Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia heritage sites. Its history dates back to the fifth century BC, when the Etruscans built a temple dedicated to the God of good health, near the Sillene natural springs that takes its name from the goddess of beauty. The healing powers and beneficial properties Chianciano's water were known as early as in the Etruscan and Roman times and the Etruscan King Porsenna, in the 6th century BC, used to frequent the hot springs, as Horace visited the area on the advice of his doctor during the first century BC.
Even today, Chianciano is one of the most famous Italian spa resorts and represents an ideal starting point to discover a territory of rare beauty, from the pictorial and architectural testimonies of the medieval and renaissance age, characterised by ancient villages such as Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza and Radicofani to the idyllic Tuscan landscapes dotted with cypress trees and the infinite rows of vineyards.
Chianciano Terme si trova nel cuore della Toscana, circondata da storia, cultura e bellezza.
